Stun guns can be one of the most terrifying Self Defense Weapons if used properly.

This is because stun-guns attack directly the ability of the person to make any kind of movement. You’ve seen it in movies when policemen throw their "tasers" to running criminals who fall in the process. That is true in every aspect.

The paralysis induced by stun guns is caused by the massive blockade of the transmission of electrical signals of the neurons towards the brain. The muscles suffer mainly, causing the fall due to the relaxation and lack of any "orders" from the processing center. Neurotransmitters, or the chemicals that transmit signals to and fro the brain are also blocked due to the electricity of the taser.

This is very helpful since you can’t expect to get away from a criminal who can still run after you once you wriggled away from his grip. Remember though that the paralysis is induced for only a short amount of time. Don’t linger with curiosity once the job of the stun gun is done!

The best regions to hit a stun gun are the "nerve points" of the body. Those nerve points are located in the hips, the base of the ribs, and the shoulders. Hitting those nerve points can produce much more efficient results because of the relative quickness of the desired reaction it induces.

Stun-guns have a safety switch on them. This safety switch is designed to prevent a person from accidentally shooting himself while the stun gun is in his pocket. That is funny for a failblog video, but not for someone who is simply relying on his Self Defense Weapon.

Imagine this situation; you are walking in a secluded area beside the sea when suddenly you saw a suspicious person looking daggers at you. This man suddenly ran towards you in quick strides, with eyes glaring with anger. You don’t have to wait that man to get near to you! Stun him immediately. It won’t do any lasting damage anyway so, even if you’re mistaken, it’s safe.

But what if upon grabbing the stun gun, you suddenly pressed the trigger. Now there comes the job of the safety switch. Without it you might even accidentally hurt yourself. You may even get killed because of it!

Here are some more stun gun facts

1. Touching a person who was hit by a stun gun won’t transfer the current to you.

2. Stun guns cannot cause heart attacks (as opposed to the usual knowledge)

3. Stun guns are not legally regulated.

4. Stun guns are not lethal.

Those are just some of the facts about stun guns. But to properly appreciate all that, it is best to simply use it and try it.

These days aren’t really that much safe anymore. That’s why stun guns are now being marketed as one of the best Self Defense Weapons in the internet and various online stores. It is for a good reason. It paralyzes, shocks, and catches off-guard even the most hardened of all criminals. It is a valuable item to have in order to defend yourself against a dangerous environment.
